Atari 8-bit links and websites
So that I don't have to bookmark these and forget that I've bookmarked them and re-search and then remember that I bookmarked them ages ago, but forgot to look through my bookmarks as I have far too many bookmarks. You get the idea:
Atari-Forum: https://www.atari-forum.com/index.php
- the online forum is still very much alive outside the walled-gardens of fbook etc...
The Old Computer: https://www.theoldcomputer.com/roms/index.php?folder=Atari/8bit/
- Scroll to the bottom and select what category and then what files to individually download
Atari800RomCollection: https://archive.org/download/Atari800RomCollectionByGhostware
- a vast long list to step through and cherry pick a specific file to download, yes, that had Xevious!
An FTP site of 3 DVDs: http://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/collections/holmes%20cd/index.html
- use Filezilla and hit the top level for a LOT more (inc. ST stuff)
8-bit programming books: https://archive.org/details/RetroGameDesignAndProgrammingBooks
- 138 in total, full of random books
My Abandonware: https://www.myabandonware.com/browse/platform/atari-8-bit/
- Can play directly in the web-browser OR download, you choose
Atari Emulator: https://atari800.github.io/index.html
- works on Linux too... once you set it up properly it's quite useful to use
Atari Mania: http://www.atarimania.com/atari-400-800-xl-xe.html
- another site for downloading lots of individual files - good selection though in diff. categories
Books from Atari Mania: http://www.atarimania.com/documents-atari-400-800-xl-xe-books_1_8.html
- see, awesome and saves the weight on the bowing book shelves
(Ah, I've found a fellow sense of humour - now, can you find the book, I wonder?!)I'll keep adding as I get more and more
